To commemorate the Province of Alberta’s centennial, twenty-five scholarships of $2005 is awarded to each province and territory in Canada.

In Newfoundland and Labrador, the Department of Education will award seventeen (17) scholarships to female students and eight (8) scholarships to male students entering their first year as a full-time student in provincially designated apprenticeship trades. 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be a Canadian citizen
  • Be a permanent resident of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Have received a high school diploma or equivalent (copy of original must be attached)
  • Demonstrate financial need in the pursuit of post-secondary education
  • Be enrolled in full time studies in a recognized post-secondary institution.  Applicants must have participated in the first year program of a minimum 24 week apprenticeable trade.
  • Must not have been awarded the scholarship in any previous years.
