Scholarships and grants are financial incentives available to high school students, undergraduates, and/or apprentices pursuing post secondary education and/or training. They are not loans and never need to be repaid.
Each scholarship and grant has its own application process and criteria. Depending on the specific scholarship and grant applied for, consideration may be given to some or all of the following:
- Academic Achievement
- Community and volunteer Activities
- Financial Need
- Geographic Representation
- Anticipated needs for specific skilled trade programs
There are currently one scholarship and three grants available:
- JATC (Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee Scholarship)
- AIG (Apprenticeship Incentive Grant)
- ACG (Apprenticeship Completion Grant)
- Diversity Scholarship
SWASP
Student Work and Service Program (SWASP) Community Service Component is now accepting applications for their summer employment program. Only students planning to attend post-secondary studies in the coming academic year qualify for this program and they must apply with a non-profit comunity organization as sponsor. Remuneration for SWASP is a via stipend of $1400 and a tuition voucher worth $1400 at any recognized post-secondary institution. Placements are for 280 hours (8 weeks).
