The college conducts and schedules safety courses on a regular basis.
The following is a listing of all safety courses currently being offered::
- Fall Protection - 2 Day WHSCC Approved
- Confined Space Entry Awareness - 1/2 Day
- WHMIS - 1/2 Day
- Powerline Hazards - 1/2 Day
- Back Injury Prevention - 1/2 Day
- First Aid (Standard)- 2 Days
- Pump Jack Scaffold Safety (New) - 2 Days
- OHS - Committee Rep Training (New) - 3 Days
- Rigging - 5 Days
- Forklift - 2 Days
- Aerial Lift (Scissors Lift & JLG) - 2 Days
- CSTS (Construction Safety Training System) - 1/2 - 1 Day (At home exercises must be completed prior to taking the test)

Minimum of eight (8) participants are required to schedule a group session for any and all of the above safety courses. The maximum number of participants per session is fifteen (15).
IMPORTANT NOTICES:
Safety courses expire every three (3) years. If your safety tickets are more than three (3) years old, you may be prevented from working on many job sites. If you are living on the avalon and you are interested in participating in safety training in the evenings or on the weekends, please contact the college.
As per new legislation effective January 1, 2012, a person shall not use fall protection equipment unless he or she has completed a fall protection training program prescribed by the WHSCC.
